Security Officer Part Time Armed Patrol
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time armed patrol Security Officer for an assigned site in Suffern, New York. The position provides a fixed weekly shift that requires a six-month commitment, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform. Additional shifts may make it possible to work up to 40 hours per week, while retaining the option to scale back. The stated pay rate is $26.50–$27.50 per hour. The officer will provide security and customer service at healthcare facilities, responding to incidents and emergencies, conducting patrols, monitoring access points, and reporting concerns. Applicants are subject to background investigations and drug screening as permitted by law and must participate in industry-specific security training.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of security-related experience.
- An armed guard card or license.
- A law enforcement officer license.
- At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements may apply before employment, subject to state and local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by following site-specific procedures and policies and carrying out appropriate emergency response activities.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout healthcare facilities, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor access points and report unusual conditions, hazards, and security-related incidents according to site procedures.
- Complete accurate activity reports and communicate relevant information to appropriate personnel and Allied Universal supervision.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
