Security Officer - Property Screening

About The Position

As a part-time Security Officer specializing in personal property screening at a logistics and distribution location in Indianapolis, Indiana, you will support security operations by screening people, packages, property, and vehicles; monitoring access points; and reporting unusual activity. You will provide professional customer service and clear communication while helping maintain an orderly environment. The position is scheduled Wednesday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and pays $17.22 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 or older for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, drivers, and vendors while carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
Screen individuals, property, packages, and vehicles entering designated areas in accordance with established procedures and access requirements.
Operate screening equipment and conduct inspections as assigned, documenting prohibited items, irregularities, and other security-related observations.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly, notify appropriate personnel, and follow site procedures.
Conduct regular and random patrols of designated areas, access points, loading areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
