Security Officer Hospital Access Verification
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer to conduct badge verifications and provide access control at a hospital in Port Jervis, New York. The officer will help manage entry points, verify credentials, issue badges, and support a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The role requires a visible presence, responses to access-related concerns, and strong customer service and communication. The position is scheduled Tuesday and Friday from 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM and pays $18.50 per hour. Additional shifts may be available through the company's Claim a Shift platform.
Requirements
- At least one year of security-related experience.
- Valid NYS guard card.
- At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements may apply before employment, subject to state and local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and contractors while carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Monitor access points and verify credentials, visitor authorization, and delivery access according to facility procedures.
- Respond calmly to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations, communicating with appropriate personnel as needed.
- Maintain accurate visitor, contractor, and access-related logs and complete required reports according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, entrances, and surrounding areas to help deter unauthorized entry.
- Issue badges and help manage entry points.
