About The Position

As a Security Officer Full Time Visitor Credential Intake in Sterling, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will help manage entry and exit points at a construction-focused location, verify credentials, monitor visitor activity, and communicate professionally with employees, contractors, and guests. You will maintain a visible presence, report security-related concerns, and support a welcoming environment through reliable service, teamwork, integrity, and a people-first approach.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to construction project personnel, visitors, and vendors by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor and control access points by verifying credentials, maintaining visitor and contractor entry records, and directing authorized individuals to appropriate areas.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, perimeter areas, parking areas, and project facilities to help deter unauthorized entry and report unusual conditions.
• Document daily activities, incidents, and access-related observations in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
