About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Entry Control in Taylor, Pennsylvania, at a logistics and distribution location. The position provides a designated site and fixed weekly anchor shift, requiring a six-month commitment, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform. Employees can work variable part-time hours and may build up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week. The stated pay rate is $18.73 per hour. The posted schedule is Saturday, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM.

The officer provides customer service and helps maintain site security through access-control procedures, monitoring entry and exit points, verifying credentials and visitor authorization, keeping access records, responding to incidents, and patrolling facility areas. The role may involve emergency response activities when appropriate and requires professional communication with employees, drivers, visitors, and site personnel.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles or at least 21 years old for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• Have a valid driver’s license only if the position involves driving.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service at a logistics and distribution location by carrying out access-control procedures and site-specific policies, and performing emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, and maintain accurate access-related records.
• Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, yard, loading areas, and perimeter to identify unauthorized access or unusual activity.
• Communicate professionally with employees, drivers, visitors, and site personnel while supporting the flow of authorized access.
