As a Security Officer Screening Officer in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Screener in a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, where you will help monitor assigned areas, conduct screening activities, and support security-related operations through visibility, communication, and customer service. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, drivers, and/or personnel by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, access protocols, and/or emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Screen packages, parcels, freight, and/or personal belongings in accordance with post orders and client-directed procedures to help identify prohibited items and/or unusual activity.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or shipment documentation, and report suspicious, unauthorized, and/or policy-related concerns to site leadership.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with supervisors and/or local authorities as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around screening areas, loading and unloading zones, and perimeter locations to help support security-related procedures and site policies.
