About The Position

The Security Officer enforces security-related policies and procedures to provide a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, patients, and physical properties. The role also performs other duties as assigned to support overall division and hospital goals. The night shift runs from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with a weekend and holiday rotation. A valid New York State driver's license is required. The position works in clinical and outdoor settings and reports to the Coordinator of Services. It does not supervise other staff.

Requirements

• NYS certification as a Security Guard.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• BLS/CPR certification and first aid training.
• Valid NYS driver's license.
• Ability to calmly diffuse and handle violent physical situations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of two years of security experience is highly desirable.
• College-level coursework in criminal justice is a definite plus, but not required.
