About The Position

This part-time Security Officer position is based at the Storm Lake Turkey Plant and is part of Tyson Foods’ Prepared Foods business unit. The officer is responsible for maintaining a safe environment for employees and authorized visitors and protecting Tyson Foods’ property and assets. The role is scheduled for Friday and Saturday from 10:00 PM to 10:00 AM, with a third-shift schedule. Pay is $20.10 per hour plus a shift premium, and employees are paid weekly. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills; ability to interact respectfully with all team members, including Tyson management.
Ability to handle sensitive issues discreetly and respond calmly and reasonably to tense, uncertain, and rapidly evolving situations.
Physical fitness and stamina to walk and stand for periods of time, run short distances, and control physical altercations if necessary.
Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and appearance.
Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in heat, cold, rain, and snow.
Ability to work independently under supervision and maintain a positive work ethic.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license; driving is required for essential job duties.
Must reside in the United States; sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

Check identification of visitors, vendors, contractors, and team members, and allow only authorized people and items into the facility.
Monitor and patrol the premises using surveillance cameras, foot patrols, and vehicle patrols to identify security issues.
Enforce security policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment.
Investigate security, workplace violence, property damage, and ethics-related incidents; complete reports and maintain records.
Interview team members and document statements from people involved in incidents and disturbances.
Operate communications equipment, including telephones, two-way radios, and intercom equipment.
Respond to emergencies such as fires, workplace violence, medical incidents, and security breaches.
Collaborate with local police and fire officials to improve preparedness and emergency response.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Patrol and check trucks in and out, including working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
