About The Position

Requirements

  • Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
  • Possess a TSA-issued TWIC.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utility location.
  • Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue and collect visitor passes, and maintain accurate access-related records in accordance with site procedures.
  • Respond to access-control alarms, unauthorized-entry attempts, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document actions taken.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entrances, facilities, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Operate access-control systems, CCTV, radios, and other assigned equipment; report equipment issues, policy violations, and unusual conditions to site leadership.
