About The Position

As a Security Officer - Utility Company Dispatcher in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As a Dispatch Security Professional at a utilities location, you will monitor alarm and access control systems, coordinate responses to security-related incidents, maintain clear communications, and support a secure environment for employees and visitors. Requirements

  • Possess at least one year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, contractors, and utility operations partners by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Monitor dispatch communications, alarms, cameras, and utility-related systems; document activity and relay relevant information to field personnel, supervisors, and emergency responders.
  • Respond to incidents, service requests, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and notification procedures.
  • Coordinate communications for routine operations, outages, maintenance activities, and emergency events while maintaining accurate dispatch logs and incident records.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the utility location, including business areas and perimeter, as assigned; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
