About The Position

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utility location.
  • Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, manage visitor and contractor entry, and maintain accurate access-related records.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and notification procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned facilities, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify unauthorized access, unusual activity, or potential hazards.
  • Communicate professionally with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership regarding access-related concerns, incidents, and shift activity.
