About The Position

Allied Universal is currently hiring a full-time Security Officer for a pharmaceutical company in Cambridge, MA. This role involves serving and safeguarding clients in various industries, including commercial real estate. As an unarmed patrol officer, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain visibility to deter security incidents, and support access control. This position is ideal for individuals who excel in customer service, clear communication, and teamwork, while upholding integrity in a people-first, innovative culture.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and staff by carrying out site-specific procedures, access protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the property, including common areas, parking areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter locations, helping to deter unauthorized activity and unusual behavior.
  • Monitor building activity and access points, verify credentials when required, and assist with visitor, contractor, and delivery processing in accordance with property guidelines.
  • Support property operations by observing for maintenance issues, hazards, and policy violations, and communicating relevant information to appropriate personnel for follow-up.
