About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed Security Officer to conduct access control at a community center in the Bronx, New York, in a healthcare setting. The officer will help safeguard patients, visitors, staff, and other individuals by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence, and supporting a welcoming environment. The role involves customer service, clear communication, and professional responses to concerns and security situations. The posted pay rate is $17.02–$18.02 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Wednesday, 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and others by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
Respond calmly and respectfully to incidents, behavioral health-related concerns, and critical situations, following protocols and contacting appropriate personnel as needed.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned areas, building interiors, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
Monitor access points and observe visitor and staff activity in accordance with site procedures.
Report unusual conditions, hazards, and policy violations to designated personnel.
Accurately and promptly document patrols, incidents, and security-related observations while maintaining confidentiality and respectful interactions.
