About The Position

As a Security Officer supporting an aerospace and defense business location in Cape Canaveral, Florida, you will help safeguard the site by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence, supporting access control, and reporting incidents. You will use communication and customer service skills while collaborating with site personnel and following site-specific security procedures and policies. This is a full-time position scheduled Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, at a pay rate of $29.51 per hour. The role may involve varying work environments and conditions.

Requirements

Possess at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience, or a college degree.
Possess an active DoD TS-SCI clearance.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment to the extent permitted by law.

Nice To Haves

A guard card and/or license is preferred.
Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific security procedures and policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations.
Conduct regular and random patrols of the business location, perimeter, access points, and restricted areas.
Monitor and report unusual activity, facility conditions, and potential security concerns according to site procedures.
Assist with visitor, employee, and vendor access processes.
Maintain accurate activity logs and communicate with appropriate site contacts.
