The Security Officer is responsible for patrolling buildings and grounds to ensure security, locking and unlocking doors according to schedules, providing escorts, identifying and removing unauthorized individuals, enforcing campus parking policies, maintaining compliance with security policies, pursuing and detaining persons involved in criminal activity, filling out incident/offense reports, giving directions, interacting with police and fire personnel, patients, visitors, and staff, and providing vehicle assistance. The role involves patrolling the interior and perimeter of the campus and parking areas. Texas Health Plano is a 386-bed, full-service hospital serving North Texas, specializing in emergency medicine and trauma, cardiology, neurosurgery and spine, advanced orthopedics, women’s services, adult and adolescent behavioral health, an adult intensive care unit, and technologically advanced surgical services. It is a Level II Trauma Facility, the only healthcare facility in Collin County with both Level IV NICU and Level IV Maternal facility designations, and has a DNV-certified Comprehensive Stroke Program. Texas Health Plano is a four-time Magnet-designated hospital, the only AACN Beacon Gold adult intensive care unit in the DFW area, accredited by the Joint Commission in Hip and Knee Replacement, and a Primary Heart Attack Center.
