Security Officer Part Time Unarmed Patrol Alarm Console
About The Position
As a part-time unarmed patrol officer in a residential community in San Jose, California, you will help safeguard residents, guests, staff, and property. You will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and provide customer service and clear communication. The role is scheduled Saturday and Sunday from 9:30 PM to 6:00 AM and pays $23.00 per hour. Applicants must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is conditional on background and, where permitted by law, drug screening. Licensing requirements vary by state and local regulations and may apply before employment. A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment.
- Undergo a drug screen to the extent permitted by law as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and property staff while following security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
- Respond calmly and use problem-solving skills when addressing incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations; document observations and actions according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random vehicle and/or foot patrols of residential communities, including parking areas, common areas, building exteriors, and perimeter locations.
- Monitor access points and property activity, and report suspicious conditions, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
- Assist with access control, visitor interactions, and incident reporting while maintaining a professional presence to help deter unauthorized activity.
