About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for a healthcare location in Birmingham, Alabama. The officer will help safeguard patients, visitors, staff, and the facility by maintaining a visible presence, monitoring assigned areas, conducting patrols, and responding to security-related needs. The role involves customer service and clear communication, following site-specific policies and procedures, and responding calmly to incidents and critical situations. The schedule is Thursday and Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Pay is $16.75 per hour.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years or older for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any licensing requirements that apply under state or local laws and regulations; licensing may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff while following security procedures and site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond calmly and use problem-solving skills during incidents and critical situations, including medical emergencies, disruptive behavior, and access-related concerns.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of healthcare facility areas, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor management according to site-specific procedures.
• Accurately and promptly document incidents, observations, and other security-related activities.
