About The Position

The Security Officer monitors staff and guest activities to ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory guidelines, and safety rules. The role takes necessary steps to protect the safety and security of operations, guests, staff, and organizational assets while exercising sound judgment within established policies and procedures. It also provides a high level of customer service and promotes a positive attitude to help create an enjoyable experience for guests and team members. The position requires working the third shift and may be assigned to various posts.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Previous experience in a guest service-related field required.
• Must understand and speak English.
• Must drive a company vehicle and comply with the company MVR policy.
• Must have a valid Illinois driver's license.
• Must be able to remain calm in emergency or stressful situations.
• Must possess the physical fitness necessary to control and restrain unruly guests.
• Must be able to operate necessary equipment with manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

• Monitor staff and guest activities for compliance with organizational policies, regulatory guidelines, and safety rules.
• Take necessary steps to ensure the safety and security of operations, guests, staff, and assets.
• Provide a high level of customer service and promote a positive attitude for guests and team members.
• Staff various posts as assigned.
• Coordinate with Surveillance to monitor critical areas.
• Maintain a visible security presence and take action to protect guests, staff, and organizational assets.
• Monitor and control guest access to and from vessels or non-public areas.
• Help arrest and/or physically restrain resistant individuals.
• Remove and detain unruly or disruptive individuals, or people engaged in criminal activity, in a Security area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
