About The Position

As a Security Officer Xray Screening Specialist in Fort Lauderdale, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Screener at a busy government transportation location, where you will help support security-related screening operations, monitor access points, and assist with screening people and property. Requirements

• Possess 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or possess a college degree.
• Be 21+ years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related screening procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
• Screen passengers, visitors, employees, and/or personal property in accordance with post orders and approved screening protocols.
• Monitor entry points and restricted areas, verify identification and/or credentials, and help to deter unauthorized access or prohibited items.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while documenting activity and communicating with supervisors and/or public officials as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around assigned areas and perimeter locations, with working environments and conditions that may vary by site.
