About The Position

As a Security Officer Welcome Desk in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Requirements

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service at the front desk by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
  • Monitor access to the lobby and reception area, verify visitor and vendor credentials, issue temporary access passes, and help to deter unauthorized entry in accordance with site protocols.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating with building contacts, employees, and/or first responders as needed.
  • Answer questions, assist with directions, manage phone and radio communications, and document visitor activity, incidents, and/or unusual observations in required logs and reports.
  • Support a professional front desk presence by observing activity in the reception area, reporting maintenance or security-related concerns, and following post orders for deliveries, guest arrivals, and/or after-hours access requests.
