As a Security Officer Welcome Center in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Front Desk Officer in a busy retail location, you will welcome visitors, manage access, and support a professional environment through strong communication and customer service. This role offers the chance to be the first point of contact while helping with security-related concerns and daily activity at the front desk. Requirements

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and staff by following site-specific procedures, access protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Monitor front desk activity, greet incoming guests, verify identification and/or visitor information, and direct individuals according to location procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, questions, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting details and communicating with site contacts as needed.
  • Observe lobby and entry areas for unusual activity and report security-related concerns, policy violations, and/or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Support a professional front desk presence by managing visitor logs, receiving deliveries when applicable, and helping to deter unauthorized access at the location.
