As an Allied Universal officer at a government juvenile justice location, you will manage access control, monitor entry points, verify credentials, and support daily operations through a visible presence, patrols, and professional communication. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A current DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required for COLA.
  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas.
  • Screen visitors, staff, contractors, and/or deliveries in accordance with post orders, and maintain accurate logs, records, and incident documentation.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or public agencies as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, observing for unusual activity and reporting security-related concerns.
