As a Security Officer Vehicle Patrol Driver in Wheaton, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a busy retail location, where you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. In this driving post, you will support a welcoming environment through teamwork, integrity, and a caring, reliable approach while responding to site needs with agility and professionalism.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and store personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities within a retail location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate relevant details to management and/or first responders when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout common areas, parking areas, entrances, exits, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and observe for unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points, assist with crowd flow during peak shopping periods and/or special events, and report policy violations, hazards, and maintenance concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Complete routine reports and document security-related activities, incidents, and observations with accuracy and professionalism.
