Requirements

  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, residents, staff, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government services location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate observations to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility, common areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and help to verify authorized entry, direct foot traffic, and document security-related incidents, policy violations, and/or daily activity in required logs or reports.
  • Support a respectful environment by assisting with de-escalation, following post orders, and coordinating with site personnel and/or first responders when situations require additional attention.
