Our Security Officers monitor and patrol a dynamic educational location, staying visible to help deter security-related incidents while supporting students, staff, and visitors with outstanding customer service and communication. In this unarmed patrol role, you will complete routine patrols, respond to campus needs, and represent Allied Universal with agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity in a people-first culture.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities across an educational location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to campus contacts and/or emergency services when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, parking locations, walkways, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and assist with visitor entry procedures, directions, and general support while reporting policy violations, hazards, and/or suspicious activity through required channels.
  • Prepare accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift communications to support ongoing awareness of security-related conditions and/or response actions at the location.
