As an Unarmed Security Officer at a government transportation location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control activities, and assist visitors with professionalism. You will use strong communication and customer service skills while working with a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, caring, and committed to integrity.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, tenants, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, suspicious activity, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established airport and government location protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned airport facilities, public areas, access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access to restricted and controlled areas, verify credentials as assigned, and report access-control concerns or unusual conditions to appropriate personnel.
  • Document observations, incidents, patrol activity, and customer interactions accurately in accordance with site-specific reporting requirements.
