As an Unarmed Security Officer at a government transportation location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control activities, and assist visitors with professionalism. You will use strong communication and customer service skills while working with a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, caring, and committed to integrity.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, tenants, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents, suspicious activity, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established airport and government location protocols.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned airport facilities, public areas, access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity.
Monitor access to restricted and controlled areas, verify credentials as assigned, and report access-control concerns or unusual conditions to appropriate personnel.
Document observations, incidents, patrol activity, and customer interactions accurately in accordance with site-specific reporting requirements.
