About The Position

As a Airport Traffic Control Officer in Honolulu, HI, you will serve and safeguard the airport, its facilities, travelers, directing and managing flow of traffic, enforcing security protocals and procedures helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors and staff. Your presence and routine patrols will support a secure environment while you provide outstanding customer service and clear communication. Requirements

• 20+ Years of Age
• Valid Drivers License
• Ability to use computers - basic computer knowledge
• Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and physical exam
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, passengers, employees, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
• Respond to incidents, suspicious activity, unattended property, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate relevant information to supervisors, local authorities, and/or site contacts.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout terminals, public access areas, parking areas, roadways, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify credentials when required, and report irregularities, hazards, and/or maintenance issues according to site protocols.
• Prepare clear reports on daily activities, incidents, and observations, and assist with crowd management, direction giving, and other customer-facing duties during routine operations and/or disruptions.
