About The Position

Allied Universal offers a rewarding career as a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position, designed for individuals seeking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work towards a full-time career. This role is for an Unarmed Driving Patrol Security Officer in Sterling, VA. It provides reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to earn more by picking up additional shifts. The position requires a six-month commitment for a designated weekly fixed shift, with the option to claim extra shifts through a scheduling platform to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. This allows for scaling up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week or scaling back as needed. The role involves providing customer service, responding to incidents, conducting patrols, monitoring access, and supporting daily operations at a technology-focused location.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating with site contacts as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, controlled areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entry and exit activity, verify access permissions, and report security-related issues, maintenance concerns, and/or policy violations according to post orders.
  • Support daily operations by assisting with badge or credential checks, visitor processing, and routine observations of sensitive infrastructure areas while following Allied Universal and site protocols.
