Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A current tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required in accordance with COLA: DPSS/DHS requirements.
  • Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor entrances, screen visitors, verify credentials, and help to control the movement of staff, contractors, and authorized guests in accordance with post orders.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and document security-related activities according to site requirements.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help to identify unusual activity, unsecured areas, and/or conditions that may require attention.
  • Communicate with site personnel, visitors, and public agency representatives regarding access procedures, restricted areas, and/or security-related concerns.
