About The Position

As a Security Officer Transit Rounds in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. At a busy government transit location, Allied Universal Officers conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support riders, visitors, and staff with exceptional customer service and communication. Requirements

  • A New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government transit location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report relevant details to site contacts and/or public authorities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of stations, platforms, entrances, corridors, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points, observe public activity, and assist with crowd and line management during routine operations, service changes, and/or special events.
  • Document daily activities, incidents, and irregularities in required reports, and communicate clearly with supervisors, coworkers, and/or site representatives regarding security-related concerns.
