About The Position

As a Security Officer Screening Technician in Rockville, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Screener in a government location, you will help support a professional, welcoming environment by screening visitors, monitoring entry points, and assisting with access and credential checks. Requirements

  • Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Be 21 years of age or older.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A guard card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related screening procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Screen visitors, staff, and/or personal belongings in accordance with site protocols, and report irregularities or prohibited items to appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while supporting orderly access control and screening operations.
  • Monitor entry points and help to deter unauthorized access by verifying credentials, directing foot traffic, and/or maintaining screening post awareness.
  • Document screening-related activities, observations, and/or incidents accurately and communicate relevant information to supervisors, staff, and/or public agency representatives.
