About The Position

As a Security Officer Screening Specialist in Fairbanks, AK, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. You will monitor assigned areas, help to deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and members of the public by following site-specific screening procedures, access protocols, and other security-related policies at a government location.
  • Screen individuals and personal belongings at designated entry points using approved equipment and procedures, and report prohibited items, unusual activity, and/or policy concerns to site leadership.
  • Monitor entrances, lobbies, and other assigned areas to help support orderly access, maintain awareness of daily activity, and document security-related incidents as needed.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including communicating with court personnel, emergency services, and/or law enforcement when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around assigned areas and the perimeter when directed, noting unusual conditions and helping to support a professional environment for all occupants.
