As a Screener at a government location, you will help maintain a secure and welcoming environment by screening visitors, monitoring access points, verifying credentials, and responding to security-related concerns. You will provide outstanding customer service while supporting daily operations through clear communication and a professional presence. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Possess 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or a college degree.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Screen individuals and their belongings using assigned screening equipment and established procedures, referring prohibited items or concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Monitor access points and verify authorized entry in accordance with site requirements while maintaining a professional, courteous demeanor.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
