As a Security Officer Roving Patrol Associate in Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a government transportation location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support employees, visitors, and the public with outstanding customer service and communication. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a public transportation location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and sharing information with site contacts and/or first responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout transit centers, platforms, parking areas, administrative spaces, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and public areas, assist with directing foot traffic, and support orderly operations by addressing questions, concerns, and/or policy-related issues in a professional manner.
  • Observe and report maintenance concerns, suspicious behavior, unattended items, and/or rule violations while following post orders and Allied Universal standards.
