Requirements

  • Possess at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service at the front desk by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor visitor entry, confirm credentials and/or appointments, issue access instructions, and help to deter unauthorized access through front desk screening practices.
  • Answer phones, greet employees, visitors, and vendors, and communicate questions, concerns, and/or unusual activity to site contacts in a calm, professional manner.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and document security-related events, observations, and/or visitor activity according to site procedures.
  • Support access control operations by maintaining front desk logs, reviewing identification, and assisting with badge and key control processes as directed by site policy.
