About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed patrol officer at an educational location in Paterson, New Jersey. The officer will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming campus environment. The role provides customer service to students, staff, visitors, and families, follows site-specific security procedures, and responds professionally to security concerns. The posted pay rate is $17.00 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable law.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, if required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and families while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of school buildings, grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
Monitor access points, observe visitor activity, and follow visitor-management and access-control procedures.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations, notifying appropriate school personnel or emergency responders when needed.
Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required activity logs in accordance with site procedures.
