As an Access Control Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry and exit activity, monitor access points, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. This driving post requires a valid driver’s license. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while supporting a caring, agile, reliable, and innovative team that acts with integrity.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license in accordance with the AU Driver Policy Requirements (C123).
  • Candidates should have prior experience with access control systems and badge management. This includes familiarity with issuing, tracking, and managing access badges for employees and visitors.
  • Candidates must demonstrate experience in operating and managing alarm panel systems. This includes knowledge of alarm protocols, troubleshooting, and responding to alarm events.
  • Candidates should be proficient in using computers or tablets for daily tasks. This includes familiarity with software applications, data entry, and communication tools.
  • Candidates must possess strong customer service skills, with a proven track record of effectively addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues in a professional manner.

  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees while carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorized access credentials, and maintain visitor and contractor logs in accordance with location requirements.
  • Control access for delivery vehicles and personnel entering or leaving distribution areas, communicating with site contacts as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting and reporting security-related concerns according to site procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, dock areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
