Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a public-facing government location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or public agencies as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout galleries, public areas, administrative spaces, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas, verifying access permissions and reporting suspicious behavior, policy violations, and/or maintenance concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with crowd management, visitor directions, and special event support while maintaining awareness of security-related concerns and following post orders at all times.
