About The Position

As a Security Officer - Morning Museum of Arts Patrol in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. Join Allied Universal at a renowned cultural institution, where you will monitor and patrol galleries and public spaces, help to deter security-related incidents through a visible presence, and deliver outstanding customer service to guests, staff, and visitors. Requirements

  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a cultural institution setting.
  • Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting unusual activity according to site protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout galleries, public areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter spaces to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and observe visitor flow, helping to support orderly entry, exit, and restricted area control in accordance with location guidelines.
  • Assist with closing procedures, crowd management during special events and/or high-traffic periods, and other security-related duties as assigned by Allied Universal and site leadership.
