As a Front Desk Officer in an education location, you will be the welcoming first point of contact, helping to monitor access, assist students, staff, and visitors, and support security-related operations with professionalism and care. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or faculty by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Monitor front desk activity, manage visitor check-in processes, verify identification as required, and document arrivals, departures, and/or unusual activity according to site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, questions, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with campus contacts, supervisors, and/or emergency personnel when needed.
  • Assist with access control functions by helping to monitor entry points, directing foot traffic, and reporting maintenance concerns, policy violations, and/or suspicious behavior observed at the location.
