Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a shelter location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help discourage incidents, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. Requirements

  • Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific procedures, following client instructions, and/or supporting emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while documenting relevant details and reporting concerns to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, common areas, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity, unsecured access points, and/or conditions that may require attention.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and shared spaces to help control access, observe resident and visitor activity, and/or support a respectful environment within the location.
  • Assist with de-escalation support, policy enforcement, and security-related incident reporting while maintaining professionalism and treating residents, staff, and visitors with respect.
