You will support access control, assist visitors and staff with professionalism, conduct routine patrols, and communicate observations clearly. Requirements

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and patrons by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout library facilities, entrances, reading areas, public spaces, and surrounding perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, helping to maintain an orderly environment for patrons and staff.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities accurately and communicate relevant information to supervisors and/or site representatives.
