Join Allied Universal as an unarmed Healthcare Security Officer in a hospital location, where you will patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support patients, visitors, and staff with outstanding customer service and communication. Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of security-related experience is required.
  • Hospital vaccination requirements must be met.
  • This position is in a hospital environment and may involve work in and around the morgue.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to restrain individuals is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A minimum of 2 years of service in a healthcare or medical-related field is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through appropriate channels when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directing foot traffic, and report security-related concerns, hazards, and/or suspicious behavior according to site protocols.
  • Support hospital and clinic operations by documenting incidents, communicating with staff and first responders, and following post orders for day-to-day security-related responsibilities.
