Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience is required.
  • Hospital-related vaccines are required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and baton is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and actions taken.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and report unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points, verify credentials when required, and assist with visitor and vehicle screening in support of site rules and restricted-area protocols.
  • Maintain readiness and proper handling of assigned equipment, including authorized defensive tools, while following post orders, applicable laws, and Allied Universal standards.
