As a Security Officer Armed Patrol in Reading, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Hospitals, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Patrol Officer in a busy hospital, where you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and support daily operations through strong communication and customer service. In this armed role, you will bring integrity, teamwork, and reliability to every shift while helping create a people-first experience for everyone on site.

Requirements

  • Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Possess an Act 235 qualification in Pennsylvania only.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

  • A valid firearms permit is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or vendors while carrying out site-specific procedures, access protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a manufacturing and industrial location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts, supervisors, and/or public emergency personnel as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout production areas, warehouses, loading zones, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions or security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points, verify credentials and/or visitor authorization, and report policy violations, hazards, equipment issues, and/or suspicious activity according to site procedures.
  • Perform assigned armed post duties in accordance with Allied Universal standards and site policies, maintaining professional presence, handling required reporting, and supporting security-related responses when appropriate.
