As an Access Control Officer in a residential community, you will monitor entry points, verify visitors and credentials, support residents and guests, and help maintain a welcoming environment. This role combines customer service, communication, and technology use while staying visible at the location. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, and/or vendors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a residential location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or visitor authorizations, and document arrivals, departures, and other access-related activity in accordance with post instructions.
  • Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating security-related matters to site contacts and/or public services when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around entrances, common areas, and perimeter locations, noting unusual activity and reporting maintenance, lighting, and/or property concerns.
  • Help to deter unauthorized access by maintaining a visible presence, communicating clearly with residents and visitors, and following Allied Universal procedures for deliveries, contractors, and after-hours entry requests.
