Requirements

  • Possess at least one year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and guests by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Staff the front desk and greet visitors professionally, verify identification and visitor authorization, issue visitor credentials, and maintain accurate entry records.
  • Monitor access to the educational location, observe lobby activity and incoming communications, and report unusual or unauthorized activity according to site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, courteous, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders when needed.
  • Assist with directing guests, answering general questions, and supporting a welcoming, orderly environment at the front desk.
