Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents. In this people-first role, you will support residents, guests, and staff through strong communication and customer service while bringing integrity, reliability, and teamwork to each shift.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a shelter location.
  • Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues through proper channels when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the property, common areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and report unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points, observe visitor and resident movement, and document daily activities, incidents, and/or policy-related concerns in a clear and timely manner.
  • Support staff and visitors by communicating professionally, following post orders, and assisting with de-escalation during security-related situations when appropriate.
