As a Security Officer in Minneapolis, MN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities across the campus location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns to the appropriate contacts.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, parking lots, walkways, and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points, observe campus activity, and assist with visitor direction, policy questions, and/or general support in accordance with site expectations.
  • Support campus operations during events, after-hours activity, and/or high-traffic periods by maintaining a visible presence and communicating with staff, students, and local responders as needed.
