About The Position

As a Security Officer Food Market Patrol in NEW YORK, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, shoppers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to the location.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and reporting observations to site leadership.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the store, entrance areas, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, observe on-site activity, and assist with security-related checks involving doors, gates, deliveries, and/or restricted areas in accordance with post instructions.
• Support loss prevention awareness by observing suspicious behavior, reporting policy violations, and assisting with incident response in a retail environment.
